Dance Bars Closed = Sex Bars Openup

Article Source: http://www.search4india.com Two weeks ago, the state said that while its dance bar ban would aim to stop girls from dancing for customers, it wouldn’t ban them from serving alcohol. Now it appears this decision may backfire on the government. With thousands of bargirls desperate for survival, the state could see a huge boom in sleazy pick-up joints, known as pakdu (silent) bars. What’s are they? Mid Day visited a pakdu bar at Dahisar check naka with a hidden camera. They are dimly-lit places with blaring music, where waitresses, usually between 18 and 30 years old, serve customers (rickshaw drivers to businessmen) food and alcohol. But there’s more to them that meets the eye, as customers negotiate with the girls for ‘favours’. This usually means oral sex, but private rooms are also available. Once the payment is fixed, the girl slips under the table and performs oral sex. She then moves on in search of her next customer. “Yahan sab milega. Pakdu ke saath full time ke liye room, nahin to item ke saath disco mein dance bhi kar sakte hain,” said the bar’s valet attendant. ‘No choice’ Said Madhu, a former bargirl who now works at a pakdu bar, “We have no alternative, as this is what the government has decided for us.” Madhu is the only bread- winner of her eight-member family. Meanwhile, members of the dance bar association claim there are 45 pakdu bars across Mumbai, Panvel and Thane district. They say such places tarnish the image of dance bars, and strongly feel many more pakdu bars will spring up when Governor S M Krishna signs the dance bar ban into law, any day now. Mid Day: http://ww1.mid-day.com/news/city/2005/june/111452.htm ============================================ Govt. and our so called representatives are making ways more easier for the Police and corrupt official to easily take bribes. Whatever bans they put on name of social goodiness, but the business of sex is existing from ancient times. Just that these days its open then those times. And banning wont create any much difference, only thing would be the officers and so called society protectors will take more hafta from those hard earning girls and bar owners. Take the case of Gujarat, which is a so called dry state (seems to be very very funny). Here you can get any sort of hard drink easily, just u end up paying 1.5 times the original cost, thats it. Nothing more. Whats the use of banning things? Its human tendency if you ask someone not to do a particular thing they are more excited about doing it and will any how try to do it. Has those society protectors (great politicians) thought of any sort of earning for those that would be unemployed becoz of this fruitless decision. Nothing, and this would end up more girls entering into business of sex. Just dancing in bars is more better then pushing the girls in business of sex.
