Cheap Life at BPOs - India

BPO or Call Centres are a hit these days. Lots of money involved, and you just need to improve your english and some little other things to get in! But is going in worth it? See some facts: 1. BPO are rightly termed as cyber coolies. The work is too low tech, and adds almost no value to one person after initial training. You attend calls all the time, and its truly maddening. 2. As BPO are mean to serve foreign clients at different clock time, the usualt working hours are at night. You body clock is destroyed and the normal life is completely ruined. 3. You have to listen to nonsesne a lot of times. Many racist and abusive comments will be made, and you are not supposed to answer them back. Anyone will good self esteem cant work in peace. 4. The number of people joining and leaving BPO are huge... as many who joins, leaves soon due to various reasons mentioned above as well. SO they recruit like mad!. 5. VERY ALARMING: The people at BPO are young and indisciplined mostly. BPO is full of live in relationship and cheap flings. The ultimate result of joining a BPO will be easy money cheap sex and negative personal growth. This can hamper your future in big deal, more than you can imagine. HIV AIDS are also in, and you wil be very surprised to see the numbers of infected people if you make a check at any BPO, like convergys, daksh etc etc. A girl who was a BCom dropout and joined a leading BPO of today in early years. She had to sleep with her team leader in order to get promotion, and then it became a habit. Many top management, collegues and even a peon got to have her. A pretty girl herself, she was engaged with a millionaire in some other town. Her parents arranged it. Now her fiancee is spying on her, as he also suspects on her. She admitted to have been involved in several affairs and was very disturbed and had guilt feeling about wht she did. Smoking, drinking etc were too common at her work place, and all her workmates were more or less like her. Her fiancee has not revealed that he knows about her flings or not, but he also manages to have sex with her thrice and now has told her parents to leave her. The resons are still to come for his decision, but she know that her team leader revealed it all to his fiance's spy. Her parents are in deep trauma as she told everything to them, and her father even tried to commit suicide. She confessed that she feel like dying herself, sex has become a phobia for her now, and she is scared of men. There are many similar stories. Though may be topmanagement is not involved in most of them, but cheap sex which destroys the emotional balance of people is quite prevelant in such companies. So, think before you move in to such place, where you get money to destroy your character and hamper your actual growth. Anyway, one cant continue to work in BPO forever due to work type and culture. Young generation beware. Temptations last for few time, but the scars they leave behind are hard to get rid off.
