21st Century City

I have recently joined a job in Navi Mumbai, was previously outside Mumbai. So was very excited about working is this mega city with all its gliterrati and lime light. Took a bus to Vashi (Navi Mumbai). As soon as reached Vashi saw big big hoarding, board as “Welcome to the 21st Century City”. But as soon as I reached APMC (agro market) all the things turned out to be quite different. Roads with big big pot holes (though no rainy season around). And dusty like hell, feel like I had reached some very very rural area of the country. Finally reached my destination, my office building. Reached office and started my work. But hardly one hour had passed by the Power supply went off. Had heard that there are never power cuts in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. But from staff came to know that its a daily affair - power cut of three to four hours. I was wondering the whole day on What basis had they put up those big hoarding of “Welcome to 21st Century City”. On what grounds do these politicians promise of making city Shanghai, they are not even capable of managing what is installed. They built Dabhol power project for minimising the power shortage, but thanks to the beauracracy and our dirty politicians the power is still to be manufactured from it. After spending Crores of Rupees of our (what we pay in tax, service tax, etc. etc. God knows what not taxes) the agreement was made such a way that power unit cost was so high that it would not have been affordable by common man. Seems like some fools had made the agreement. Day by day the power situation is worsening in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, infact whole of Maharashtra. But if these politicians get time from debating abour reservations, hanging of Afzal or something other stupid they can think of progress of state. If situation remans this, companies would slowly start moving out of mumbai, as also mumbai is very costly then other states. So its better for companies to save money. The debate can go on and on and on but all on deaf ears. Our great great politicians have promised to make the city of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai like Shanghai (keep waiting...). http://dipenparekh.blogspot.com

Goal Achieved...

Saddam Hussein has finally been executed on Saturday Morning. The Americans must be really jubilant about they achieving the Goal.

But was executing Saddam their real Goal? At the time going on war against Iraq they had a goal of freeing Iraq from atrocities of Saddam Hussein and make Iraq a peaceful democratic country. Almost two years on Iraq war, is Iraq a peaceful country?

Was America's real Goal to provide good life to Iraqis?

Not at all, American's did all this for the thing called “Black Gold”. They had no interest in Saddam Hussein or Iraqi citizens. If Iraq had no “Black Gold” Americans wouldnt have even looked at it.

Why doesnt Americans go and try to resolve the conflicts and civil wars going on in African countries? It wouldnt go, because at the end of the day it would achieve nothing. Here in Iraq it has got itself good hold on the Crude Oil industry and can easily divert things towards America.

Will executing Saddam Hussein bring to an end to daily killings in Iraq taking place? More people have died after the Iraq war then during the war. If this was the situation, we feel for once that Iraq was better before war for atleast common Iraqi people.

In any case Americans have executed Saddam, now lets see what worse is to come for Iraqi's. God save them.
